Becker & Sanders was established in 2004, by John Becker and Ed Sanders.

John came to West Michigan in the early 90’s and went to Grand Valley State University. While in school he worked at a hardware store where he learned a tremendous amount and gained so much knowledge and exposure, from plumbing to electrical, to wood and finishes. In 1993 John got his builders license and was doing small jobs during his time off from the hardware store. After that John began working at a Grand Rapids, MI based construction firm, where he gained six solid years of experience, but felt the demand for him to do projects outside of his full time job was so grand that he either needed to pursue his own company, or give it all up entirely. John’s “roots” lie in custom cabinetry, but his skill set extends far beyond. He loves challenging projects that require him to use his mass skills and engineering pieces on his own. The accomplishment of finished projects is what keeps John loving the industry, while still enjoying his passion. It’s not money motivated, but the satisfaction of customers being happy with the end products!

Ed Sanders left the company at the end of 2013 to pursue missionary work in Haiti.  Ed is a great man that John holds in very high esteem. They created Becker & Sanders together and it is meaningful to keep “Sanders” as a standing part of the company’s name, and legacy.
